Adoption FAQ

What are your adoption fees?

Adoption fees vary by animal and include spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, microchipping and more. Contact us at adopt@4lg.org or call (845) 414-9700 for current fees.

What if the adoption doesn’t work out?

If for any reason an adoption becomes impossible, the animal must be returned to Four Legs Good. We will work with you to resolve any issues first. We never want an animal to be abandoned twice.

Do you do follow-up visits?

Four Legs Good reserves the right to place a follow-up phone call or visit, with notice, within the first year of adoption. This is to ensure both you and your new pet are thriving.

Can I visit the shelter before applying?

Absolutely! We are open six days, 12-5 PM (closed Wednesdays). Come meet the animals, talk to our team, and see the shelter for yourself. Appointments recommended but not required.

The Senior to Senior Program

Adopters aged 65 and older who adopt animals aged 8 and older may be eligible for a special, discounted $25 adoption fee. Senior pets and senior adopters are a perfect match. Ask us about eligibility when you visit.
